Gnome3 is slip-sliding away in a graphical fashion that is far superior to unity-compiz -so- my new point of view is that apparently the gnome-desktop project has invested is highly accelerated graphical gizzmos that work extremely well. Remember overkill is just being sure. Unity moving off Compiz shouldn't affect that.

But more and more Canonical is disavowing projects that are not within the infrastructure of their flagship frameworks so I think not. The OP's problem seems to be the expected mish mash of dependency conflicts seen during development. My apologies for off topic.

No such file or directory I tried to figure out what project this file comes from, so with a search in Debian's package management system, it looks like the source package that this would come from is evolution-data-serverwhich is a dependency of ring-client-gnome.
What's the output of apt-cache policy ring-gnome libebook I wrote how to change it a little bit down, but you give me minus. I have no idea how to fix this.
